FAQs
At what age can a dog be trained?
The simple answer is it is never too early or too late for your dog to be trained. We can train a dog one week after its second vaccination, and sooner if we are training within the home.
What types of training programs are offered?
Trident offers Standard, Deluxe, Elite, and Reactive Dog training packages, focusing on obedience, socialization, and behavior modification.
What are the signs that my dog needs more exercise?
Signs include excessive barking, destructive behavior, hyperactivity, and difficulty focusing. Regular exercise is essential for your dog’s physical and mental health!
Do Dogs Get Bored Of The Same Walk?
Dogs can indeed get bored walking the same route every day. While dogs enjoy routine, they also benefit from mental and physical stimulation. Introducing variety in their walking routes can help keep them engaged and prevent boredom.
How Much Exercise And Attention Do Puppies Need?
Puppies require significant time and interaction to behave well-adjusted. Plan to spend 2-3 hours total daily focusing just on your pup. Schedule play sessions, walks, solo time in a safe playpen, supervised family time and 1:1 bonding moments. Mental games provide stimulation too. Puppies crave and benefit from attention.
How do I continue training at home once board and train has concluded?
You will be invited to an in-depth handover session at the end of training. This session allows us to show you the tools and techniques used to train your dog before giving you the opportunity to demonstrate to us you have taken everything on board. We even provide a short video of your dog in training to act as a future point of reference. If required, we can offer additional one to one support either in your home or our training facility to re-enforce training.
How can I maintain my dog's training at home?
Consistency is key! Practice commands regularly, reinforce good behavior with rewards, and integrate training into your daily routines. Set aside time for practice sessions, and continue to expose your dog to new environments and situations to reinforce training.
Does training help with my dog’s mental stimulation?
Yes, training provides mental stimulation, which is crucial for a dog’s well-being. Engaging your dog in learning new commands and tricks keeps their mind active and can help prevent boredom-related behaviors.
Can older dogs still be trained?
Yes! Dogs can learn at any age. While older dogs may take longer to adapt, consistent and patient training works for them just as well as for younger dogs.
I have more than one dog that needs training. Can you help?
We often train multiple dogs from the same household. In fact, the only way to resolve some behavioral challenges is to train siblings at the same time.
